Joseph B. McGlynn, Jr.

Joe has enjoyed a lengthy career defending corporations in complex litigation, including product liability and toxic tort claims. He has mentored numerous young attorneys over the years and is the recipient of dozens of professional and civic awards. He is recognized as one of the Top 100 Irish American lawyers.

Joe founded the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in St. Louis in 1970, an event that has since grown to attract regional and even national attention as a true celebration of Irish American Heritage. He remains active on its Executive Committee and leads the Parade each year, flanked by members of the Irish and St. Louis area governments. He served as Honorary Consul General for Ireland from 1978 through 2023. Joe is a past president of the Alumnae Board for the University of Notre Dame and a past president of the Board of Directors for Fontbonne University in St. Louis, among numerous other boards and committees on which he has served.

Joe received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Notre Dame in 1955 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Louis University in 1958.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to1960, working in the Judge Advocate General's Corps.
